I really admire Apple app developers, they create really interesting stuff. The Confession App is one app that has been getting much attention lately. The app basically lets you write down your day-to-day sins on a password protected file, lets you examine your actions, has the ten commandments and some usual prayers like Our Father, Hail Mary, and Acts of Contrition. That is a great app for your $1.99 especially if you are the religious Catholic.
Even though the Confession App could do so much, it is still not a replacement for a priest. The Confession App only helps you prepare for penance wherein you tend to forget a lot of minor sins. The Vatican feared that people might think of the app as a replacement for the Sacrament of Penance and wanted to remind people that the confession is a dialog between a person and priest.
Other than the reminder, the Vatican’s officials are still in favor of it as a medium of spreading the word of God as well as an everyday self reflection tool. It is a great thing that the Church today is not as strict as before and seems to be more open minded.
